I am Laura Contreras-Portela. I am a 2nd year PhD candidate at the Aix Marseille School of Economics (AMSE).
My research interests lie at the intersection of labor economics, spatial economics, development economics, and international trade, with a primary focus on Colombia. My current research projects examine the impact of place-based policies on informality (labor and housing) and its interplay in a spatial economy. I am also keen on studying their effects on intrahousehold labor allocation and female labor supply.
