I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics and an adjunct lecturer at Kedge Business School . During my PhD, I was a Visiting PhD Fellow at UNU-WIDER in Helsinki and visited the Department of Economics at University College London and the Centre for Tax Analysis in Developing Countries at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. I have also worked as a research consultant for the ILO.

I am on the 2026–27 economics job market.

I work on development economics, labor economics, and international trade. I am interested in how policies and economic shocks reshape local economies in developing countries, particularly through the reallocation of workers and resources across firms. My research also examines AI innovation, trade, digital policies and data regulation, as well as the drivers of violence within households, including intimate partner violence and violence against children.

In my JMP, I study how local labor markets adjust to the expansion of subsidized firms using Colombia’s Free Economic Zones (FEZs), a widely used place-based industrial policy. Using municipality, firm, and worker microdata, I show that participating firms expand substantially, yet overall employment does not. Contrary to the view that formal-sector expansion draws workers out of informality, I find that it can instead increase informality: expanding firms hire skilled workers away from other employers, while displaced less-educated workers cannot access the new jobs.
